The woman is in her thirties so she is mature enough that I don't see why he should be so nervous. His biggest concern should be if he is interested still in helping raise children. Being in his fifties that is probably the only thing he should be worried about. LOL.. He's such a loser. He can't get a woman with no kids at home.
He should just get to know her and see if he likes her enough to take the next step and get involved with the kids. Older guys are great and younger women love the stability they can provide while rocking his world.
This is a new time and place in American history. This scenario is very common, especially in California.
When his grandkids visit they will have playmates.
Tell him to take his time and try not to rush things with the kids, just be their friends first and don't give up if it doesn't happen right away.
